About AL-WALIY CHARITY FOUNDATION
AL-WALIY CHARITY FOUNDATION is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization located in
Richmond, Virginia, United States of America with Federal Identification Number 923301987. Our primary focus is to relentlessly work towards improving
spiritual and social wellbeing of the less-privileged communities in East Africa. We believe that the world
together has a role to play in changing livelihoods for the less fortunate.
Mr. Mohammed Kasule, the founder of AL-WALIY CHARITY FOUNDATION narrates
that the organization was started in remembrance of his late mother,
Hajjat Yudayah Nankya, who lived as a single mother of seven. Just like
most single mothers in East Africa, she struggled to raise us, put food
on the table, getting us basic education, etc.… but one most important
attribute she fought to instill in us all, was the aspect of loving and
sharing whatever little we have with those in need. She fought tooth and
nail to raise us up to be God fearing children, but most importantly
those who cared for humanity. A service herself always aspired to do, up
until the time her Creator took her soul in 2011 “May The Almighty
forgive her, have mercy on her, provide her with salvation and
                                                    forgive her shortcomings!”

Amidst all the challenges and struggles she faced every other day in
trying to provide for even her own children, she never wished to see any
suffering child in the neighborhood. I remember as we grew up in our
small, rented house in Nabweru, a suburb in the outskirts of Kampala, in
Central Uganda, in the Eastern part of Africa, our home was always a
center of unity for the whole village.

											She could mobilize fellow women
to form groups and go cultivate for the rich so they could feed their
children and help the orphans. She could offer to take care of babies
for young girls who gave birth while in school so they could continue
with their studies. She could approach different organizations seeking
bursaries for the orphans in her community, and she always took on those
(orphans) who had no one to take care of them and raise them as her own.
No wonder they used to refer to her to as “maama w’ekyaalo”
                                                (mother of the whole village)!

When the old lady passed on, I could see the void and feel the pain she
left behind on the village! many of those she used to help wished she
was still alive to give them courage and hope to carry on. Many continue
to approach me every now and then for support but can only do as much by
                                                myself!

It was upon that background that I started praying to The Almighty Allah
to give me courage and the will to step in my mom’s footsteps. I
convinced myself I can build onto her legacy and serve an even bigger
community. And it’s through that desire to help the needy that I and my
colleagues decided to establish this foundation and start mobilizing God
fearing people and good Samaritans of this world to step up and join
hands in supporting the less privileged communities in East Africa, through
AL-WALIY CHARITY FOUNDATION programs such as; educating the orphans,
providing clean water, offering financial and health logistical support
to the sick and under equipped health centers, building mosques,
sponsoring pilgrims, paying Zakat, and empowering the East African Youths and
Girl Child with technological skills, plus any other general support as
need arises from time to time.

At AL-WALIY CHARITY FOUNDATION we believe the world would be a better
place and with less troubles if we all looked out to each other. Many
brothers and sisters out there lack basic essentials but guess what! The
$20 you go spend on pizza only eat 2-3 slices and trash the rest, could
buy someone meals for a whole week. Some of us have been blessed with
more than enough and sometimes even surplus, which I strongly believe
wouldn’t hurt if we reserved a few pennies to show appreciation to The
Almighty by supporting those who lack. It’s through that spirit and
attitude that we call upon every one of us out there, in our respective
capacities and potential to support our brothers and sisters in East Africa
who cannot afford basic human necessities through contributing whichever
little we can afford towards this noble cause.May The Good Lord
enable and be pleased with us all and multiply whichever little we
                                                    contribute in multitudes..

                                            The Future
We hold on to The Almighty and see massive potential in the growth of the
